Carson sheriff's deputies rescue two from burning house

The fire broke out at about 5:30 a.m. while three people were inside a house at Elsmere and Huggins drives near StubHub Center, according to a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department statement. One person ran outside but two were trapped in back bedrooms because of the fire, officials said.

“The deputies and Los Angeles County Fire Department persoel removed security bars from a rear window and rescued the trapped residents,” the statement said.

One person was not breathing and had to be resuscitated by paramedics and one deputy was treated for smoke inhalation, deputies said. Officials took three people to a nearby hospital but their conditions were not disclosed.

While the cause is still under investigation, Sgt. Daniel Tobin said it was likely an accidental electrical fire.
