Infant's dead body found in North Long Beach alley

A body found by neighbors Tuesday in an alley surrounded by a cardboard box and debris tued out to be that of an infant, a Long Beach police detective said.

Police were called to 67th Street and Gardenia Avenue at 4:22 p.m. on the report that an infant’s body had been bued, said Detective Claudia Lopez of the Long Beach Police Department.

The body was that “of an infant and it’s not bued, but in a stage of decomposition that would give it that appearance,” Lopez said.
