26-year-old Long Beach man charged in coection with church burglaries

A 26-year-old Long Beach man was charged Friday with stealing from a Long Beach church on two separate occasions within a week, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office aounced.

Trevor Fix, 26, has been charged with three felony counts, including two counts of burglary and one of identity theft.

The defendant was scheduled to be arraigned Friday at the Los Angeles County Superior Court in Long Beach Branch where prosecutors plaed to ask that bail be set at $40,000.

Fix allegedly broke into the preschool at Lakewood Village Community Church in Long Beach and stole several electronic items, prosecutors said.

Four days later, the church experienced a second break-in, according to a statement by the district attorney’s office. Prosecutors said Fix reportedly stole cash, checks, a credit card and more electronics from the church.

Soon after the second robbery, the owner of the stolen credit card notified police that the card had been used at a store.

Fix was arrested on Aug. 10.

If convicted as charged, Fix faces a maximum possible sentence of four years and six months in county jail.

The case is being investigated by the Long Beach Police Department, the statement said.
