Stater Bros. shares aiversary with its customers

Aproned employees gave customers red, white or blue balloons, frosted cookies and a “thank you for 80u2009years” Wednesday at Stateru2009Bros. stores.

The Inland supermarket chain was marking the aiversary of the opening of its first store, on Aug.u200917, 1936 in Yucaipa.

Stateru2009Bros., now headquartered in Sanu2009Bernardino, has since grown to 169 stores, or at least it will next week.

In a phone interview earlier this week, executive chairman Jack H. Brown said he was excited by the 80th aiversary as a chance to share with the community.

The company chose the aiversary to formally aounce the opening of its newest location.

The supermarket, at 660u2009East Losu2009Angeles Ave., Simiu2009Valley, will open for business after a ribbon-cutting at 8u2009a.m., Aug.u200924.

It is the first Stateru2009Bros. store in Venturau2009County, according to a press release.

To mark the occasion, Stateru2009Bros. will make $14,000 in donations to Simiu2009Valley organizations.

Stateru2009Bros. takes pride in community involvement. Over the years, the company has donated tons of food and given other kinds of aid to charitable organizations.

The new Simiu2009Valley store will include a full-service deli, bakery, floral department, meat department and seafood department.

It will sell handcrafted sushi “made in-house daily,” a product that is also available at Temecula and Murrieta stores.
