Long Beach police are investigating the murder of a man near Lincoln Elementary School early Sunday.
The unidentified man was found shot found to death at about 3:24 a.m. Sunday in the 1000 block of Norman Court, near Alamitos Avenue, the Long Beach Police Department said in a written statement this moing.
Fire officials were initially dispatched to the call. The man had been found with gunshot wounds to his upper torso.
The motive for the shooting remains unclear, and no suspects are in custody, police said.
The Los Angeles County Coroner’s office will identify the man when next of kin are notified.
