
The Orange County Sheriff’s Department Coroner Division is asking for the public’s help to find the family of a man found dead in a park in 1991.
Daniel Valencia Munguia, aka Antonio Alvarez Madriz, 44, was identified via fingerprints, according to a Sheriff’s Department news release Tuesday afteoon. He was found dead in a park April 6, 1991.
No photo was made available, but authorities did provide a photo of a tattoo on his left shoulder that read, “I [heart symbol] PIYO.”
Munguia was a transient known in the Santa Ana area at the time of his death, according to the department. He was a Mexican citizen and spent time in the Long Beach area in the late 1980s.
Anyone with information on Mr. Munguia’s family should contact the Orange County Coroner’s office at 714-647-7400 and reference case number 91-02034-EY.
