U.S. Marine Corps aviators are scheduled to fly four F/A-18 Hoet aircraft into Long Beach on Saturday, Long Beach city officials aounced.
The jets are expected to arrive about 5 p.m. Saturday before departing some time about midday on Sunday. Flight schedules are subject to change, according to the aouncement.
Marine aviators fly Hoets relatively frequently to LGB. Although the pilots are expected to reduce their use of the jets’ afterbuers in an effort to minimize noise, Long Beach officials have advised the Hoets are louder than the aircraft that typically fly in and out of LGB.
