Deputy struck during confrontation with drug suspect in Bellflower

A deputy was struck in a confrontation with a suspect in a drug deal Monday in Bellflower, but is expected to be OK.

The investigation occurred about 5:30 p.m. at a motel and proceeded a short distance to Lakewood Boulevard and Olive Avenue, according to a Lakewood Sheriff’s Station spokesman.

The deputy was treated on scene and the suspect was arrested.
