No DNA match on knife found at O.J. Simpson's former Brentwood home

LOS ANGELES — DNA testing on a knife found buried on O.J. Simpson’s estate has produced no matches, it was reported today.

According to the celebrity news website TMZ.com, “microbes in the soil degraded any DNA to the point it was impossible to get a meaningful result.”

“We’re also told there was no hair or other sample that produced a lead,” TMZ reported.

A Los Angeles police spokesperson said the department could not confirm the report.

A construction worker found the buck knife with a 5-inch blade buried on the perimeter of the property and gave it to a retired Los Angeles police officer who was doing traffic control for a movie shoot in the area.

The officer took it home and put it in his tool box for more than a dozen years.

Simpson was acquitted of murder charges in the 1994 stabbings of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman.
