The Orange County Fire Authority responded to a pair of separate but related crashes each involving two vehicles at 8:50 p.m. in the southbound lane of the 55 Freeway at McFadden Avenue, Capt. It took an urban search-and-rescue team to get an injured man down from a refinery tower in Carson, authorities said today. Los Angeles County firefighters were summoned at 10:12 p.m. Tuesday to the refinery in the 22600 block of South Wilmington Avenue, Dispatch Supervisor Miguel Oelas said.
